WELCOME!
Hello and thank you for visiting my web page. I am a 2011 Ph.D. from the Department of Political Science at the University of California, Davis.
My dissertation examines citizens' perspectives of democratization in Africa. In particular, I study the bases of democratic support and how political evaluations shape this support as citizens go through the democratization process. I received the National Science Foundation Political Science Dissertation Improvement Award, as well as several smaller awards, which I used to collect original experimental and survey data in Senegal (2006, 2007, 2009) and Ghana (2010). I also received the 2009-2010 UC Davis DC Graduate Fellowship. I currently reside in the DC area, where I work as a social science analyst for the U.S. Africa Command and the Department of Defense.
My research and teaching interests span a range of topics in Comparative Politics, including democratization, political and economic reform and development, comparative political economy, African elections, public opinion, political participation, and conflict resolution.
